You never know who you're sat next to!
 Jim Bolton P.Pr.J.G.D.
Or more importantly Ben Smyth's Granddad

When I was introduced to Jim Bolton, a member of member of Lawrence Mark No 313, who meet at Chorley when he was a guest at Aeon Mark at Leyland, little did I know that he had a story to tell.
Above: Jim and Ben at a family get together

Jim's grandson, Ben Smyth, who is 12 years old lives in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire. Ben has a somewhat exquisite voice and is hoping that his singing and stage career will take off.

Ben has been in several singing competitions including Singing at the Guild Hall Preston where he came second also Search For a Star North West and more recently Fylde’s Got Talent in which he came second.

He has been in Billy Elliot and Westside Story at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool and currently is rehearsing as Friedrich in The Sound of Music, due to be put on there in May this year.

Ben has inherited some of his Grandfather's charitable traits and has performed at several concerts which have raised money for local charities in the Fylde.

Last December, Ben auditioned for 2013 Britain’s Got Talent.  Every day Ben hopes that someone will spot his talent and it can only be a matter of time. But don't take my word for it, you can see and hear him sing two songs, 'Hallelujah' and 'On My Own' from Les Miserables on the link below, I sure you will agree with me.
